PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan, stated on Saturday that the government had agreed to form a negotiation committee following Speaker Sadiq’s participation. He stated that discussion is the “only way forward” for both the government and the opposition.
Barrister Aqeel Malik, the government’s legal adviser, told DawnNews TV on Friday that the committee’s members were being finalized and will be unveiled over the weekend.Speaker Sadiq had earlier stepped forward on Wednesday, offering his office and apartment as dialogue locations, claiming they were “accessible 24 hours” to help the process.
Names In Negotiation Committee
The recently established committee, which was announced today, includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister’s political assistant Rana Sanaullah, and Senator Irfan Siddiqui. It also includes PPP members Raja Parvez Ashraf and Naveed Qamar, MQM-P’s Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Privatization Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Sardar Khalid Magsi.
